My name is Steve "Papa" Eastman.  The Papa is what the grandkids and daycare (my wife & daughters business) kids have called me for years and it stuck.  We live in Yorba Linda, CA, about 8 miles from Disneyland.  I am a rare native to So. Ca. and have lived in the Anaheim/Yorba Linda area since about 1958.  My wife Diane and I have been married since 1972.  We are the same age, lived about a mile apart, went to the same grammar school, junior high, high school and city college, but had never met until I was out of the service and I started working at Kwikset Locks.  We have three adult? children, three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Due to my Grandfather being in the airplane business, I have always loved mechanical things so a love of cars and airplanes was natural.  I do not recall having trains as a kid, but thought they were fascinating.  The first trains were HO for my older son, but the model builder in me soon took over and the kids were not allowed to do much.  I looked back on this when the grandkids came along and realized I had killed any interest my kids might have had so I was determined to let the grandkids play.  They can get a Marx loco airborne with the best.  We had been given my brother-in-laws Marx Allstate 9625 set and this was our introduction to O gauge and Marx.  That set was followed by some new Lionel sets, but before long, the Marx fever took hold. 75% of my roster is Marx with a lot of other brands making up the rest.  Lithographed units are a personal favorite.
